Taxonomy
Eurete prolatum was named by Reid (1959). It is not extant. Its type locality is Childrey, which is in a Cenomanian offshore chalk in the West Melbury Marly Chalk Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Eurete (Aulodomus) prolatum by Finks et al. (2004).
