Pleurotomaria findespinosa was named by Dahmer (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kahleberg, which is in an Emsian carbonate shale in the Kahlberg Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Dahmeria.
It was recombined as Dahmeria findespinosa by Blodgett and Frýda (1999).
