Pecten (Patinopecten) bakeri was named by Hanna and Hertlein (1927). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Patinopecten bakeri by Durham (1950); it was recombined as Leopecten bakeri by Masuda (1971), Moore (1984) and Waller (2011).
