Tingitana anoualae

Taxonomy
Tingitana anoualae was named by Evans and Sigogneau-Russell (1997). Its type specimen is MCM 120, a mandible (A juvenile left dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ksar Met-Lili, Anoual, which is in a Tithonian/Berriasian deltaic sandstone in the Ksar Metlili Formation of Morocco. It is the type species of Tingitana.

Sigogneau-Russell 1997A sphenodontian characterized by dentary teeth bearing strong, inwardly concave, anterolingual crests between a large posterior cone and a small anterolingual one; absence of posterior flanges on dentary teeth; coronoid process broad; Meckelian fossa with strongly overhanging dorsal lip and upturned ventral lip. From provisionally attributed maxilla-maxilla with tapering postorbital process, at least in the juvenile.
