Sharovipteryx mirabilis
Taxonomy
Podopteryx mirabilis was named by Sharov (1971). Its type specimen is PIN 2584/8, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Madygen, site 14, which is in a Ladinian/Carnian lacustrine shale in the Madygen Formation of Kyrgyzstan. It is the type species of Podopteryx, Sharovipteryx.
It was recombined as Sharovipteryx mirabilis by Cowen (1981), Unwin et al. (2000).
