Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
K. Gao and Z. Cheng 1999A scincomorph lizard differing from other members of the group in having the following derived character states: posterodorsal process of dentary substantially larger than posteroventral process; dentary tooth row greatly shortened, and confined to anterior one-half of dentary; anterior inferior alveolar foramen opening at level posterior to dentary tooth row; dentary teeth robustly built, with laterally expanded and anteroposteriorly compressed shaft; anteromedial process of coronoid elongated, extending horizontally to same level as surangular notch of dentary; distinct hook-like process present ventrally on anteromedial process of coronoid, preventing splenial from contacting surangular; clearly defined interior opening for trigeminal nerve present between coronoid and surangular; poserior mylohyoid foramen opening at splenial/angular suture.
