Taxonomy
Pecten bodenbenderi was named by Behrendsen (1891).

It was recombined as Weyla (Weyla) bodenbenderi by Aberhan (1998); it was recombined as Weyla bodenbenderi by Damborenea and Manceñido (1979) and Scholz et al. (2008).
