Taxonomy
Ikechosaurus pijiagouensis was named by Liu (2004). Its type specimen is IVPP V 13283, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pijiagou, which is in an Aptian lacustrine horizon in the Jiufotang Formation of China.
