Preshumardites sakmarae was named by Ruzhentsev (1938). It is the type species of Andrianovia.
It was recombined as Neoshumardites sakmarae by Nassichuk et al. (1965); it was recombined as Andrianovia sakmarae by Boardman et al. (1994), Leonova (2002).
