Taxonomy
Capillomesolobus pontebbanus was named by Pečar (1986). Its type specimen is GPU 1778/1 and is a mold. Its type locality is Monte Corona, Locality 6, which is in a Gzhelian marine shale in the Corona Formation of Italy.
