Taxonomy
Silesiaspongia rimosa was named by Pisera and Bodzioch (1991). It is not extant. Its type locality is Szymiszow, which is in an Anisian perireef or subreef limestone in the Karchowice Formation of Poland. It is the type species of Silesiaspongia.
