Taxonomy
Ovatia mezenensis was named by Grigorjeva (1977). Its type specimen is PIN 1120/968 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Piles Well, SKV. 03, 569.7 m, Mezen River, Komi Region, which is in a Roadian marine horizon in the Kazan Formation of the Russian Federation.
