Taxonomy
Colospongia ramosa was named by Riedel and Senowbari-Daryan (1989). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aggteleker-Karstes, Western Carpathians, which is in a Julian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks/grainstone in the Wetterstein Formation of Hungary.
