Khurendukhosaurus orlovi

Taxonomy
Khurendukhosaurus orlovi was named by Sigogneau-Russell and Efimov (1984). Its type specimen is PIN 3386/3, a set of postcrania (partial postcranium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khuren-Dukh (PIN coll. 3386) [SMPE], which is in an Albian/Albian lacustrine - large sandstone/claystone in the Khuren Dukh Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Khurendukhosaurus.

Matsumoto et al. 2009Medium-sized (approximately 1 m total length) choristodere characterized by closed neurocentral sutures; anteroposteriorly elongated neural spines with transversely expanded, rugose, spine tables on dorsal vertebrae; tall, narrow caudal vertebral neural spines; and a waisted ilium with an almost rectangular iliac blade patterned by coarse anteroposterior ridges.
