Taxonomy
Ellesmerespongia feildeni was named by Rigby (1970). It is not extant. Its type locality is GSC 81005 Feilden Peninsula, Ellesmere, which is in an Asselian/Artinskian carbonate limestone in Canada. It is the type species of Ellesmerespongia.
