It was assigned to Platypterygiinae by Fischer et al. (2012), Arkhangelsky and Zverkov (2014) and Robert et al. (2014); and to Ophthalmosauridae by Fischer et al. (2011), Fischer et al. (2013) and Ji et al. (2016).
