Taxonomy
Batrachosuchoides was named by Shishkin (1967). It is not extant. Its type is Batrachosuchoides lacer.

It was assigned to Brachyopidae by Warren and Marsicano (2000) and Shishkin and Sulej (2009); and to Tupilakosauridae by Schoch and Milner (2014).
