Taxonomy
Demarezites furnishi was named by Spinosa and Nassichuk (1994). Its type specimen is SUI 52705 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Montpelier Canyon, old mine, Bear Lake County, which is in a Roadian offshore shale in the Phosphoria Formation of Idaho.
