Taxonomy
Gamerabaena sonsalla was named by Lyson and Joyce (2010). Its type specimen is ND 06-14.1, a partial skull (Incomplete skull without mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bucklin Township, near Marmarth, which is in a Maastrichtian channel lag conglomerate in the Hell Creek Formation of North Dakota. It is the type species of Gamerabaena.
