Taxonomy
Nautilus parallelus was named by Abich (1878). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Araxes Gorge, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in Azerbaijan.
It was recombined as Domatoceras parallelus by Shimansky (1965); it was recombined as Domatoceras parallelum by Teichert and Kummel (1973), Korn and Ghaderi (2025).
