It was recombined as Hologyra (Vernelia) sublimneiformis by Böhm (1895); it was recombined as Hologyra sublimneiformis by Kittl (1899); it was recombined as Naticopsis (Vernelia) sublimneiformis by Tong and Erwin (2001).
