Taxonomy
Hapalocrinus quinquepennis was named by Ramsbottom (1958). Its type specimen is BM E 26576a, a calyx, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Leintwardine starfish bed, which is in a Leintwardine lagoonal siltstone in the Lower Leintwardine Formation of the United Kingdom.
