Taxonomy
Hudsonospongia talacastensis was named by Beresi and Rigby (1993). It is not extant. Its type locality is Talacasto Gulch, which is in an Arenigian open shallow subtidal wackestone/lime mudstone in the San Juan Formation of Argentina.
