Henkelotherium was named by Krebs (1991). It is not extant. Its type is Henkelotherium guimarotae.
It was assigned to Paurodontidae by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); to Dryolestidae by Rougier et al. (2011); and to Mammalia by Velazco et al. (2022).
