Taxonomy
Orbiculoidea rotularia was named by Waterhouse (1986). Its type specimen is UQF 73912 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UQ L4542, Buffel Hill, Cracow Homestead, which is in an Artinskian coastal siltstone/limestone in the Buffel Formation of Australia.
