Taxonomy
Martiniopsis patella was named by Waterhouse (1967). Its type specimen is NZGS BR827 and is a mold. Its type locality is GS7356, Elbow Creek (D44/f9875), which is in a Changhsingian carbonate limestone in the Wairaki Breccia Formation of New Zealand.
