Taxonomy
Compressoproductus pentagonalis was named by Waterhouse (1983). Its type specimen is TBR 438 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huai Tak 16F, Lampang Province, which is in a Changhsingian marine shale in the Huai Tak Formation of Thailand.
