Taxonomy
Stomiocrinus ferruginus was named by Webster (1990). Its type specimen is UWA 27006 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lyndon River, Wandagee Formation, which is in a Kungurian marine sandstone in the Wandagee Formation of Australia.
