Taxonomy
Kometia cruciformis was named by Webby and Trotter (1993). It is not extant. Its type locality is Coppermine Creek, Cliefden Caves, which is in an Eastonian slope/ramp reef limestone/siltstone in the Malongulli Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Kometia.
