Taxonomy
Megacanthoporina composita was named by Morozova (1992). Its type specimen is PIN 2287/1004 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 20 km west of Baga-Bayan-Ula Mountain, which is in a Tournaisian marine horizon in Mongolia. It is the type species of Megacanthoporina.
