Taxonomy
Neotainoceras gigantum was named by Zheng (1984). Its type specimen is NIGP 34374 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zhongying Section Bed 31 (QZ-15,14), Qinglong County, which is in a Changhsingian coastal mudstone in China.
