Taxonomy
Pleuronautilus magnus was named by Zheng (1984). Its type specimen is NIGP 34378 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Heilajia Section HP2-2, Langdai County, which is in a Changhsingian carbonate limestone in the Changxing Formation of China.
