Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
K. A. Kolesnikov et al. 2024Sponges with skeletons made largely of strongly curved to sigmoidal or gently serpentine oxeas and/or strongyles arranged in irregular felt or in upwardly echinate tracts, sometimes with sparse, relatively enlarged sub-longitudinal oxeas. Sigmoidal spicules may be either mega-sclere sized, or much smaller than associated oxeas and are classified functionally as microscleres. (After Rigby & Collins 2004.)
