Taxonomy
Lepidotes lennieri was named by Sauvage (1893). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Cap de la Hève, Bléville, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine horizon in the Marnes à Deltoideum delta Formation of France.
It was replaced with Macrosemimimus lennieri by Schröder et al. (2012).
