Portopinheirodon asymmetricus
Taxonomy
Portopinheirodon asymmetricus was named by Martin (1999). Its type specimen is PP Mam 141/68, a tooth (right upper middle molar), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Porto Pinheiro, Lourinha, which is in a Kimmeridgian estuary/bay marl/mudstone in the Lourinhã Formation of Portugal. It is the type species of Portopinheirodon.
