Necrosuchus ionensis
Taxonomy
Necrosuchus ionensis was named by Simpson (1937). Its type specimen is AMNH 3219, a partial skeleton (Right dentary with associated cranial fragments and partial postcranial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Estancia Las Violetas - L2, which is in a Danian terrestrial sandstone in the Salamanca Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Necrosuchus.
