Hyposaurus natator
Taxonomy
Hyposaurus natator was named by Troxell (1925). Its type specimen is YPM 985, a partial skeleton (Skull and jaws, pelvis, shoulder, 33 vertebrae and rib fragments), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cream Ridge Marl Company pit (Hornerstown Fm.), which is in a Maastrichtian marginal marine marl in the Hornerstown Formation of New Jersey.
It was synonymized subjectively with Hyposaurus rogersii by Denton et al. (1997).
