Pontosaurus lesinensis

Taxonomy
Hydrosaurus lesinensis was named by Kornhuber (1873). Its type specimen is GBA 1873/4/2, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lesina (K.K. Geologischen Reichsanstalt GBA collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Starigrad Limestone Formation of Croatia. It is the type species of Pontosaurus.

It was recombined as Pontosaurus lesinensis by Kramberger (1892) and Pierce and Caldwell (2004).
