Acinacodus tagaricus
Taxonomy
Acinacodus tagaricus was named by Lopatin et al. (2010). Its type specimen is PIN, no. 4463/5, a mandible (right dentary fragment with C1, P2–P3, М2–М4, and alveoli and roots of I1–I4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shestakovo-1, which is in an Aptian terrestrial sandstone/siltstone in the Ilek Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Acinacodus.
