Taxonomy
Altudoceras hunanense was named by Xu (1977). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shanghulong, Hengshan County, which is in a Roadian marine siliciclastic in the Dangchong Formation of China.
It was recombined as Hengshanites hunanensis by Zhou (1985).
