Tuditanus punctulatus was named by Cope (1875). It is not extant. Its type specimen is AMNH 6926, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Linton, which is in a Westphalian D mire/swamp coal in Ohio.
It was recombined as Isodectes punctulatus by Cope (1897).
