Squamularia (Neophricodothyris) oviformis was named by Reed (1944). Its type specimen is GSI 17074, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NE of Rest House, Kathwai, Salt Range, which is in a Capitanian carbonate limestone in Pakistan.
