Taxonomy
Auriptygma khairliense was named by Reed (1944). Its type specimen is GSI 17219, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Near spring 0.5 miles N of Khairli, K28.920-925, Salt Range, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine horizon in the Chhidru Formation of Pakistan.
