Taxonomy
Naticopsis sessilis was named by Reed (1944). Its type specimen is GSI 17220, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chambalwala gorge, marly Middle Productus, Narsinghphoar, Salt Range, which is in a Capitanian carbonate limestone in the Wargal Formation of Pakistan.
