Metacoceras warchense was named by Reed (1931). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is K 24.595, bridle path to Uchali near divide above Kumaranwali dhok, which is in a Lopingian marine horizon in Pakistan.
It was recombined as Huanghoceras warchense by Reed (1944).
