Pseudorotalia was named by Reiss and Merling (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-u-l R]. It is extant. It was considered unknown by Loeblich and Tappan (1987).

It was assigned to Ammoniidae by Loeblich and Tappan (1987); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
