Taxonomy

Spirifer (Neospirifer) undata was named by Reed (1944).

It was recombined as Aperispirifer undatus by Termier et al. (1974); it was recombined as Neospirifer undatus by Archbold and Thomas (1986).

Sister species lacking formal opinion data

N. leoncitensis, N. tewaensis

Synonyms

Aperispirifer naubauriensis was named by Plodowski (1968). Its type specimen is SMF 25009 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dorf Nau-Bauri, Dacht-e-Nawar, which is in a Sakmarian carbonate limestone in Afghanistan.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aperispirifer undatus by Termier et al. (1974).
