Adocus dzhurtasensis

Taxonomy

Adocus dzhurtasensis was named by Syromyatnikova and Danilov (2009). Its type specimen is ZIN PHT K27-1, a partial shell (nuchal+left peripheral 1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Karacheku / Dzhurtan, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian terrestrial conglomerate in Kazakhstan.

Diagnosis

E. V. Syromyatnikova and I. G. Danilov 2009	A species of Adocus that can be differentiated from other members of Adocus by strong nuchal emargination, narrow anterior border of the nuchal, and reduced cervical scale. Besides that, it can be differentiated from all Asiatic Adocus by enlarged and thickened elements of the shell, and from A. foveatus by more rounded anterior plastral lobe.
