Naticopsis ziczac was named by Whitfield (1882) [Naticopsis zic-zac]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Newtonville, which is in a Chesterian carbonate limestone in the Maxville Formation of Ohio.
It was recombined as Naticopsis (Naticopsis) ziczac by Hoare (2004).
