Taxonomy
Viligella dubia was named by Dagys (1965). Its type specimen is IGiG 254/118 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Malaya Turomcha River, Carnian, Gizhiga River Basin, which is in a Carnian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
